FORT GREENE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A suspect was injured in a police-involved shooting in Fort Greene Friday night.
Around 8 p.m. at the Walt Whitman Houses, police officers were on patrol in a van when they heard shots fired near Cumberland Walk and Park Avenue.
They investigated and found a suspect, armed with a gun, running on Cumberland then jumping over a fence.
The officers approached the suspect, and one of the officers fired, hitting the suspect in the left shoulder, according to the New York City Police Department.
The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he is stable condition, police said. He is in custody.
The officers were taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment.
A Kel Tec .9mm semi-automatic gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
