CALVERTON (WABC) -- Two skydivers are lucky to be alive after a mid-air collision in Suffolk County.

The high-altitude crash happened about 12:30 Saturday afternoon in Calverton near the home base of "Skydive Long Island."

Kevin Arcamona, 29, reports that he was in a free-fall with 46-year-old Patricia Baronowski, when his knee came in contact with her head, knocking her unconscious. Baronowski's reserve parachute activated automatically, and she landed in a tree, suspending her approximately 15-20 feet from the ground.

Emergency workers transported Baronowski to Stony Brook Hospital with a head injury. She is currently in serious condition. Arcamona was also transported to Stony Brook with a leg injury. He has since been released.
