MINEOLA -- Officials on Long Island on Monday honored four police officers and two medics who saved a referee's life during a middle school basketball game.

Referee Terry Twibell collapsed from cardiac arrest on February 1 at Seaford Middle School. The rescuers brought back his pulse and stabilized his condition.

A Mineola ceremony on Monday afternoon was hosted by Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves; Police Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter; and PBA President James Carver.
