The New York Red Bulls were eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League by Guadalajara after the teams' second leg ended in a 0-0 draw in New Jersey.

The Red Bulls came into the second leg trailing Chivas by a goal afterIsaac Brizuela's lone strike helped the Liga MX side to a 1-0 first-leg win in Guadalajara.

And the home side was nearly on the scoresheet inside of 10 minutes when a Bradley Wright-Phillips shot from close range was blocked and Tim Parker pushed his shot wide of the far post from the rebound.

Daniel Royer had two good chances that also came up short in the opening 45 minutes, rolling a shot from a difficult angle wide of the far post before seeing a well-struck header blocked to safety.

New York remained on the front foot throughout, but couldn't find an opener despite outshooting Chivas 12-0 with Matias Almeyda's team fortunate to make it back to the dressing room at half-time still clinging to the aggregate lead.

Chivas looked energized after the break and went close twice in the opening minutes of the second half, while the Red Bulls were still lively in their attacking third.

Kemar Lawrence missed a great chance to play Wright-Phillips in on goal ahead of the hour mark and the latter blazed a good shot from distance to force a save from Rodolfo Cota soon after.

Chivas managed to see out the result and will face the winner of the other semifinal, where Toronto FC leads Club America 3-1 on aggregate.
