The 2022-23 NBA season is still very young -- but Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has already put in a bid for play of the year.
In the first quarter against the Washington Wizards, the 12-time NBA All-Star introduced Daniel Gafford to the hardwood with a vicious crossover.
Once Gafford was on the ground, KD hit a jumper to extend Brooklyn's lead to 38-26 with 26.9 seconds remaining in the first frame.
Footage of the play made its way around the internet -- but the photos really put things in perspective.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James caught wind of the images and had a fitting response.
Durant had a humble answer when asked about the play after the game.
"I really thought he slipped on some sweat there, so I can't take full credit for it. But I was glad that we were able to get some momentum [and] I was able to get some space to do my thing and I'm glad I finished the shot too."
The Nets cruised to a 128-86 win. Durant finished with 28 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds.
