The New York Knickshave signed veteran forward Marcus Morrisand guardLandry Shametto Exhibit 9 deals, the team announced over the weekend.
The contracts serve as a training camp invite, giving Morris and Shamet a chance to make the final roster. Their deals are non-guaranteed, but each player is entitled to $15,000 should he get injured in training camp.
Morris, 35, signed a 10-day deal for an ailing Cleveland Cavaliers team in March and was eventually signed for the remainder of the season after breaking into the rotation.
Morris scored 5.8 points on 41.4% shooting from 3 in 12 regular-season games in Cleveland before helping the team advance in the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
A 13-year veteran who can stretch the floor as a big forward, Morris could provide the Knicks more depth behind OG Anunoby, Julius Randle and Josh Hart.
Shamet, 27, averaged 7.1 points per game for the Washington Wizards last season and is a career 38.4% 3-point shooter.
