TCS NYC Marathon opening ceremony

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Marathon Weekend kicked off in Central Park and on Eyewitness News Friday evening.

A showcase runners from around the world paraded across the marathon finish line as part of Friday evening's opening ceremony for the TCS New York City Marathon.

Representatives from NYC running clubs, several U.S. organizations, professional runners, and wheelchair athletes will also join in the procession. Following the parade, the Marathon Fireworks Presented by Poland Spring finished off the ceremony.

The Marathon Opening Ceremony Presented by United Airlines took place in Central Park.
