HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. -- It was an unforgettable moment for a student with special needs during Senior Day for the Los Altos High School baseball team in Hacienda Heights.
Anthony Estrada, wearing No. 22 for the Conquerors, was on third base in a game against the Diamond Ranch Panthers on Thursday.
A wild pitch was thrown that skipped by the catcher, making its way to the backstop.
Anthony sprinted for home with the assistance of his third-base coach following him down the baseline.
With dirt flying and the home crowd cheering him on, Anthony raced across home plate to score a run.
The crowd erupted as Anthony was mobbed by his teammates. Hugs and high-fives were exchanged as Anthony made his way back to the dugout.
"Nothing stops him from being happy and making others around him happy," one student said of Anthony to ABC7.
