Staten Island home burglarized while undergoing Sandy repairs

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (WABC) -- A woman caught a burglar red-handed - leaving her home which is undergoing repairs after Superstorm Sandy with her belongings.

Around noon Dec. 31, a woman went to her Sunnymeade Village home which is under repairs following the storm. She saw the suspect leaving the home, and police later determined that he had taken DVDs and figurines.

The suspect entered the location by breaking the rear sliding door, according to the New York City Police Department.
