FRANKFORD, Pa. -- One person is dead and 20 are injured after an SUV crashed into a SEPTA trolleybus in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.
The driver of the SUV was taken to Einstein Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later. A passenger in the SUV is in critical condition at Einstein.
19 occupants aboard the bus, including the driver, requested medical attention.
The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Monday on the 4700 block of Penn Street.
SEPTA officials tell Action News the trolleybus was heading westbound on Penn when it was rear-ended by the SUV.
Police are continuing to investigate.
