WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (WABC) -- An SUV crashed into a Woodbridge apartment complex, forcing the evacuation of several apartments late Thursday.

The vehicle hit the gas meters on the side of the Green Hollow Drive building just before 10:45 p.m.

The entire structure -- about 15 apartments -- was evacuated as crews shut down the gas. Residents of six apartments were not allowed to return for the night.

Crews evaluating the structural integrity of the building found that the first floor was damaged.

The SUV driver was not seriously injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
