Review: 'The Gallows'
Sandy Kenyon has the review.

"The Gallows" is yet another in a genre called "found video" - horror films, made to look like they were shot by amateurs. This means that 'found video' films can be done on the cheap with young actors who are just grateful to have their jobs.

Cassidy Gifford is the daughter of Kathy Lee Gifford, and her husband, Frank. Their daughter plays one of four high school students, looking to disrupt the production of a school play.

Two decades before at the same school, a student in the same play met an untimely end - senior Charlie Grinnel died after a prop malfunction during the high school presentation of "The Gallows" - surprise! Charlie is back to haunt the place now.

The movie is pretty scary, except when you consider that you have been watching for about a minute, and you've already seen most of the scary bit.

"The Gallows" is headed for a quick death at the box-office, and it would be hard to find a film that critics dislike more. It was made for next-to-nothing, so why should you spend your hard-earned money to see it?
