Vintage train rolling out to take Mets fans to Citi Field this weekend

NEW YORK (WABC) -- If any commuter sees an old-fashioned train pull up to the subway stop, fear not, you haven't lost your mind. The MTA is rolling out a group of vintage train cars for the upcoming Mets game this weekend against the Chicago Cubs. The "Train of Many Colors" will be heading out to Mets-Wllets Point, carrying hundreds of fans who will be ready to cheer the Mets to a victory over Chicago.

The old-school train is made up of 11 vintage IRT cars varying of several different colors consisting of red, blue, green and more. The cars featured were made in several different eras between 1948 and 1964.

The train will leave from the 7 line at 34 Street Hudson Yards station at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, making express stops to Main Street.

This is not the first time the MTA has used vintage trains on the subway lines. Vintage Low-V trains were used to transport baseball fans to Yankee Stadium earlier in October for the wild card playoff game. The vintage trains also make an appearance every year during the holiday season, from November to December, so you don't have to deal with crazy fans if you want to take a ride down memory lane.

Although there is no guarantee your commute won't experience delays. It is, after all, part of the MTA experience.
