Woman injured by construction debris crashing through window on Upper East Side

UPPER EAST SIDE (WABC) -- A bizarre construction accident Wednesday injured a woman on the Upper East Side.

The woman was exercising at the Asphalt Green Fitness Center when a piece of a backhoe flew through a fourth-floor window.

She was hit by shards of broken glass. The metal piece had broken off the backhoe at a construction site next door.

The victim is an employee at Asphalt Green.

She was treated for cuts at a hospital and released.
