WASHINGTON HEIGHTS (WABC) -- Everywhere you look on Cabrini Boulevard in Washington Heights, there are piles of glass and windows bashed in on car after car.
"There's like 25 cars broken down there and at least a dozen on the other side of the street," says Elizabeth Lorris Ritter.
Police spent much of Wednesday filling out reports for angry car owners who arrived in the morning to find as many as 50 cars damaged in the apparent vandalism spree. Oddly, however, nothing seems to be stolen. Joh Shiffman left an entire drum set in his trunk on Tuesday night, and it was still there - even if his window is gone.
"I stupidly left my musical equipment there for one night, thought I could get away with it, so it's the silver lining for me," Shiffman says, "I don't even get what they're smashing the windows for."
Residents say it isn't uncommon to find cars vandalized on this block. Back in July, police arrested three teenagers for breaking into 35 cars over several days. On Wednesday police found blood on at least one car, and they are analyzing the evidence.
