AccuWeather Alert: Storms moving out of the region

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued as heavy rain moved into the region Wednesday afternoon, bringing with it flooding and wind damage.

The warnings were issued for parts of New Jersey and New York City, but have since expired. The National Weather Service said winds of at least 60 mph were possible with this storm.

It was in the 40s in the Tri-State area early Tuesday morning, with reduced visibility is some areas. Heavy rain was expected to hit the area around midday which could create flooding. Winds gusts could go up to 60 mph.
