WEST NEW YORK (WABC) -- A New Jersey school was evacuated Wednesday after students and faculty smelled an odor.

The smell was detected inside the Albio Sires Elementary School on Palisade Avenue in West New York at around 12:30 p.m.

For precautionary reasons, 30 children who complained about feeling dizzy were taken to area hospitals.

About 20 went to Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, where they were evaluated and released.

The students were let back in after about two hours.
