YONKERS (WABC) -- Police have arrested a woman in a hit and run that killed a woman in Yonkers.

On Thursday, Yonkers Police arrested Carla Scott, 34, of Mount Vernon, in connection with the incident April 18. Scott was arraigned on manslaughter charges and held without bail.

Police said that the suspect laid in wait in her car, which was running, for over an hour on Warburton Avenue, until 37-year-old Glynis Pinto stepped in front of it.

Police said the driver surged forward, Pinto was unable to escape and was carried on the hood of the car until she fell off and was run over.

According to friends, the two women were known to each other and had a long-running feud over a man who the victim used to be involved with but is now dating the suspect.

The drama played out publicly on Facebook, and Scott even posted an expletive-filled rant Wednesday before her arrest.

Part of it reads: "Y'all fake threats mean nothing to me. I'm never scared, but jump out there and you will be dealt with accordingly."

Friends and relatives were heartbroken at Pinto's death. They left flowers and lit candles, and talked among themselves about the dispute between one-time friends that appears to have led to her death.

"Everybody that knows her and cares about her, just show the family some love, vengeance, revenge, put all of that aside and all that other stuff and show that little boy some love," a friend said.

Police said they are investigating the incident as if it was a homicide, more than a hit-and-run.

Anyone with information is asked to call 914-377-7724.
