YONKERS, Westchester County (WABC) -- A car slammed into a medical office building in Westchester County Monday morning.
It happened on South Broadway in Yonkers around 9 :15 a.m., with the out-of-control vehicle slamming through the front window and into the lobby.
Office manager Diana Sayegh said it's a miracle no one inside was injured.
"Those who know my office know that my waiting room always has anywhere between 20 and 25 people waiting to see the physicians," she said.
Yonkers police believe the unidentified 68-year-old driver of the black sedan may have suffered some sort of medical episode. They say he was involved in a fender bender while making a U-turn and then drove in reverse into the building.
"His wife is a patient of ours, and she was inside the waiting room," Sayegh said. "So when he hit a car, everyone came out to see the incident, the crash. Luckily, that happened before he crashed into my office."
Inspectors will closely examine the building to check its structural integrity. Workers boarded up the blown out front window. Dr. Nadem Sayegh said he'll re-direct his Yonkers patients to his office in the Bronx.
"The bottom line is nobody got killed, thank God," he said. "We'll clean up. Clean up. Big clean up."
