At least one person was placed under arrest, and Greenwich police planned to discuss the arrest at a 1 p.m. news conference.
McPherson, who was wearing no jacket despite the cold, was likely killed somewhere else and dumped on Sterling Road near Riversville Road, police said.
McPherson was of Jamaican descent. He was identified by fingerprints.
