A recently fired Ramapo police officer was indicted on federal charges Tuesday. Authorities say 43-year-old James Curley was indicted on federal domestic violence-related charges involving his estranged wife.

Details of the charges are not being released, since the indictment is sealed.

Curley is being held in federal custody pending a bail hearing.

Back in January, Curley was busted in a stolen car with rifles, ammunition and a bulletproof vest.

Before being fired, Curley spent 18 years getting paid, tax-free, on disability.
