Swastikas found at Jewish school

WHITE PLAINS Police in White Plains say a groundskeeper at the Solomon Schechter School discovered the graffiti, along with a damaged wooden fence, on Monday. Police say the fence was pushed in, causing about $500 in damage. Empty beer bottles were also found strewn in the area.

Sunday was the 70th anniversary of "Kristallnacht," when massive violence toward Jews and their property erupted in Nazi Germany. The incident is being investigated as a bias crime.

Officials at the school sent an e-mail to parents about the incident.
