A fight apparently over a girl ended with a student stabbed inside the Green School in Brooklyn. Education officials say it occurred around 1:00 Thursday afternoon at the Green School Academy for Environmental Careers, which is located in a building that houses three other schools.

Police said the stabbing was the result of a fight over a girl. All involved appear to be in gangs, they said.

The student was taken to Bellevue hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police took three people into custody, but charges were still pending.

A Department of Education spokeswoman says no other injuries were reported.
