Underground explosion in Hackensack

Two utility workers were injured in an underground explosion in Hackensack Sunday night. Eyewitness News is told the workers were repairing a gas line in front of the Bergen County Courthouse, when they were injured just before 11:30 p.m.

    Both workers were quickly pulled out and rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center.

    One was reportedly being treated for second-degree burns. The other has less serious injuries.

    The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
