Parts of Long Island experience flash floods

Heavy thunderstorms swept across Long Island Saturday.

In Levittown, the heavy rain led to some serious flash flooding.

Pelican Street was one of a number of streets on Long Island that were suddenly submerged.

In some places, the water was waist deep.

The good news is that the water receded, and the thunderstorms gave an ample watering to lawns dried up because of weeks of no rain.
