Relatives say a soldier from New Jersey was killed on his third day in Afghanistan.

His family doesn't know how Army Spc. Pedro Millet died on Sunday. But they say the 20-year-old's unit was assigned to sweep for mines.

Millet called his mother when he arrived in Afghanistan on Friday to say he wasn't feeling well.

Millet graduated from Elizabeth High School in 2008 and enlisted in the Army.
