Classes cancelled after NJ elementary school fire

RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey

The fire was burned through a portion of the ceiling, roof and attic of the Hawes Elementary School just after 7 a.m.

The flames were fueled by gas. Once officials capped the gas main, the fire was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The damaged was confined to one section of the school.

However, classes was cancelled for the day at the elementary school.
