SUV flips, crashes into home in Central Islip

CENTRAL ISLIP

Police say a man, driving drunk, flipped his SUV and ended up inside a home.

The accident happened around midnight in Central Islip.

Police say the driver lost control of the SUV, smashed through a fence, toppled a tree and landed in the garage.

Neighbors ran outside to see what happened and if they could help. Investigators said the driver's blood-alcohol content was .30. That's more than three times the legal limit.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The house was badly damaged, but it was also vacant. It's up for sale.
