Robert Sabio, a 70-year-old from Roselle Park, was attacked in Irvington nearly two weeks ago.
Police say it happened after Sabio bumped his car into another vehicle.
Sabio dropped off a friend and was pulling out of a parking space just in front of Casey's Tavern when he apparently bumped the car behind him.
There was little or no damage, but a dispute erupted and Sabio was badly beaten. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died two days later.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
