One of the detectives who helped solve the decades-old murder of a child was promoted Monday.

Robert Dewhurst was promoted to Detective Second Grade on Monday for his work on the "Baby Hope" case.

Dewhurst is one of the detectives who reopened the case of an unidentified girl found in a cooler in Upper Manhattan in 1991.

In October, a relative of the girl, whose real name is Anjelica Castillo, was indicted on murder charges. He pleaded not guilty.
