WTC, Exchange Place PATH closed this weekend

February 14, 2014 5:09:51 PM PST
This weekend is the first of up to 45 weekends where the World Trade Center and Exchange Place PATH stations will be closed for long term upgrades.

In addition to post-Sandy work, the Port Authority will be installing federally mandated Positive Train Control, which automatically stops trains if a collision is imminent.

Trains on the Newark-WTC line will only run between Newark and Journal Square. People trying to get to or from Manhattan should transfer to the Journal Square-33rd Street line.

In addition, NJ Transit will cross-honor PATH tickets on the Hoboken Light Rail at the Exchange Place, Newport, and Hoboken stations.

The last train on the line will be the Friday 11:55 p.m. departure from World Trade Center to Newark.

Service will resume on Monday at 4:45 a.m.
