In addition to post-Sandy work, the Port Authority will be installing federally mandated Positive Train Control, which automatically stops trains if a collision is imminent.
Trains on the Newark-WTC line will only run between Newark and Journal Square. People trying to get to or from Manhattan should transfer to the Journal Square-33rd Street line.
In addition, NJ Transit will cross-honor PATH tickets on the Hoboken Light Rail at the Exchange Place, Newport, and Hoboken stations.
The last train on the line will be the Friday 11:55 p.m. departure from World Trade Center to Newark.
Service will resume on Monday at 4:45 a.m.
