Vincent Heilig was arrested after prosecutors say he is behind at least 10 break-ins around Ronkonkoma and Medford.
Heilig is accused of stealing jewelry and cash from homes when the residents were out.
The first burglary occurred in April of 2013, with the rest happening in December of 2013 and January 2014.
Heilig, 30, is charged with 10 counts of second-degree burglary and one count of second-degree attempted burglary
The investigation is continuing.
