Police: Man steals $22K in jewelry store robbery in Lower Manhattan
Joe Torres has the details after police say a man stole $22K in a jewelry store robbery in Lower Manhattan.

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan -- Police have arrested a Brooklyn man who they say robbed a jewelry store on the Lower East Side.

The robbery happened at 'Yaf Sparkle Jewelry Boutique' on Orchard Street just after 3 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the man asked to see some jewelry - that is when he threw lighter fluid on one of the workers and ran off with $22,000 worth of jewelry.

Workers from a nearby store saw the commotion and ran outside.

NYPD officers were in the area and placed the suspect, Kevin Scurry, 38, under arrest. Police say he has a long criminal rap sheet.
