Authorities say Charlie Ross was shot in the driveway outside the exclusive Williams Club at 24 E. 39th street.
There are a number of witnesses to the shooting that police took away. Authorities believe Ross knew his attacker.
Sources tell Eyewitness News cops are putting together a description of the suspect.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the neck where he later died.
Police continue to investigate the scene.
