The new charges against Nixzaliz Santiago accuse her of creating a grave risk of either serious physical injury or death.
Santiago's trial is set to begin September 3.

NEW YORK Authorities say 7-year-old Nixmary was killed in her family's Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment in 2006. Her stepfather was convicted of manslaughter in the case. Cesar Rodriguez was sentenced to 26 1/3 years in prison in April.
