Aniston movie shoot closes LI highway

SEAFORD Most Long Island drivers don't even question traffic. But when it happens during the early afternoon, as if it's morning rush hour, there's a problem. Apparently unless the answer involves some famous people.

"What movie?" one annoyed driver asked. "Oh wait...We don't mind anymore. Go, Jennifer, go girl!"

"At least there's a good reason," driver Noreen Cosgrove said. "At least it isn't a traffic accident."

And it was no accident. The expressway welcomed Aniston for the day, putting the highway on lockdown between exits 1 and 2.

"I don't see her," Rachel Forgione said. "They say she's out to lunch and not here yet."

But while cast and crew played make believe, real life was happening around it, with people trying to get from point A to point B to get their own jobs done.

"Shut down the road for a movie or whatever?" a truck driver said. "It is ridiculous."

He's wondering why the romantic comedy "The Bounty" had to be done there on a Monday on one of Nassau County's busiest roads.

The Nassau County Executive' Office sent Eyewitness News to the Nassau County Police Department. They sent us to the town of Oyster Bay, which referred us to Senator Fuschillo's office, and, finally, to the state Department of Transportation. Still, we got no answer about the road closure.

"I know my husband was here this morning," another onlooker said. "He didn't know what was going on, but then we heard they're making a movie."

Don't worry if you got stuck in traffic Monday, as it is the first and last day of filming there. Other parts of the movie have been filmed in Manhattan. You can expect to see the movie in theaters early next year.
