Two kids dropped off by bus at closed day care

QUEENS The 4-year-olds, a boy and a girl, were discovered wandering on 100th Street just before noon.

They were dropped off by their bus driver at the Little Top Day Care Center. According to police, the bus driver did not know the day care center was closed.

Munevar Pastora, the bus driver, is under arrest and charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

The children, left all alone, began wandering the neighborhood until they were found by a Good Samaritan.

That woman called the police, who took the children to Elmhurst Medical Center for evaluation.

Meanwhile, police located the children's father. He said the bus company knew there was no day care today, but the bus driver may not have been told.

Police believe the children were put on the bus by a babysitter.
