The U.S. Coast Guard had ordered the service suspended at 6 p.m. because of heavy winds.
The National Weather Service was reporting gusts of wind up to 60 miles per hour in some parts of New York City.
Staten Island Ferry Service restored
NEW YORK DOT spokesman Seth Solomonow said Saturday service had been
restored about 9 p.m. The ferry carries passengers between St.
George on Staten Island and Whitehall Street in lower Manhattan.
