Woman killed while diving off NJ coast

BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. It was not immediately clear how the diver, identified only as a 30-year-old woman, injured herself, and a cause of death was not disclosed.

She had been brought to shore by a rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light, which responded to the Lady Go Diver after a crew member reported the injury around 12:40 p.m. At the time, the boat was about eight miles off Barnegat Light.

Emergency services personnel soon took the woman to Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin, but she died there a short time later.
