A 16-year-old was shot in the back and died after he walked out of his home on Cromwell Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday.
About a half hour earlier, four people were shot during a party inside a home along the Grand Concourse.
19-year-old Demitrius Jones, who was at the party, was killed.
Witnesses say some uninvited guests ran inside and opened fire.
The three others who were shot suffered minor injuries.
Police do not think the two shootings are related.
