Newark Mayor Cory Booker sent this message over Twitter
"Reckless stupidity! Just chased down a stolen car thief with my team after he slammed his car into a house & one of my residents."
Booker says his security detail handcuffed the man and called police.
The pedestrian who was hit was rushed to the hospital. No word on the person's condition.
