Atiba Brown is charged in the death of his mother, 45-year-old Christiana Jones.
Police said she was struck with a brick inside their Brownsville, Brooklyn home on Tuesday night. Jones sustained trauma to the head.
Investigators found her body in the basement of her East 98th Street home.
Brown was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
