Nazareth High School in Brooklyn saved from closure

NEW YORK

The principal of Nazareth High School in East Flatbush has announced that it will remain open.

Financial problems and declining enrollment had the school in jeopardy of shutting down.

But students, staff and alumni launched a save-the-school campaign that raised $700,000.

An outside benefactor donated another $500,000 to help keep the doors open.
