Fire injures 5 in the Bronx

NEW YORK

Flames were reported around 11:30 a.m. at 1114 Gerard Avenue in the West Concourse section of the Bronx.

The fire damaged the 4th and 5th floors of a 6 story building before being brought under control.

Two residents of the building were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries. They were all taken to Jacobi hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the cause is underway.
