FAIR LAWN, New Jersey (WABC) -- There is relief in a New Jersey neighborhood Friday after a black bear was spotted in a tree.
The call came in just before 7 a.m., and animal experts managed to tranquilize the bear on Eastern Drive in Fair Lawn about three hours later.
Public Works was called to take down fencing, which helped the animal avoid injury.
After being tranquilized, it fell into a net.
The bear, weighing 131 pounds, had been caught and tagged in the past. It will now have a second tag supplied by New Jersey State Game and Wildlife.
The bear will be released to the nearest wildlife center.
