Man dies moments after assaulting, robbing someone in Brooklyn

PARK SLOPE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police say a man died moments after he assaulted and robbed someone in Brooklyn.

The attack happened shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday in Park Slope.

Police say when the thief ran off, he went into a nearby train station at 4th Avenue and 9th Street and ended up on the northbound R train tracks.

The suspect apparently was killed by the electrified third rail.
