A jitney bus went off a Henry Hudson Parkway ramp near the George Washington Bridge in Washington Heights Tuesday morning.

The bus appears to have driven off the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway, just north of the George Washington Bridge, and ended up in a snowy area between the northbound and southbound lanes.

Two people, a 56-year-old male driver and 39-year-old woman, were on board and were being treated. Both sustained leg injuries, and were taken to St. Luke's hospital in stable condition. The driver also was suffering from heart palpations.

The mini bus failed to negotiate a turn coming from the George Washington Bridge to the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway. The bus slid 100 feet, went through a wall and dropped 30 feet into the woods.

Both work for Brooklyn Transportation Corp. Described as an Access-A-Ride bus, but no passengers on board at the time.
