Street in Hackensack New Jersey goes all out with Halloween decorations

HACKENSACK,. N.J. (WABC) -- Halloween on Clinton Place is a neighborhood affair as the spooky spirit casts a spell on the entire street.

"I'm pretty sure it just started with two houses and everyone just got into it, and then it just turned out to be the street to come to in Hackensack," said one visitor.

Houses up and down the block are themed, with some featuring gory decor like crawling zombies and crypt keepers hanging from gates. Others keep the mood lighter with characters from "Finding Nemo" and "The Little Mermaid."

Visitors to the street will also find a Sleepy Hollow house complete with the headless horseman, "Club Zombie" where a river of fake blood runs to the front door and down the street as animatronic undead play guitars and bang on drums. One house boasts even real caskets in the front lawn with mummies reaching over the sides.

According to several visitors, numerous homeowners make the elaborate decorations themselves year after year.

The street offers an opportunity for families to enjoy Halloween decorations together, and many have been coming to Clinton Place since they were children themselves.

"I've been coming here since I was 7 years old," said one man. "One of my favorite things is just the wholesome family activities that they do here on the block during Halloween."
