WIGAN, England -- One woman's final wish is so touching that people all over the world are sharing it.

When 77-year-old Sheila Marsh knew she was nearing the end of her fight with cancer, she wanted nothing more than a chance to say goodbye to her horse, Bronwen. So the hospital where she was staying made that happen.

Marsh passed away hours after this touching goodbye. The CEO of Wigan Hospitals tweeted the photo above, which has been shared thousands of times.

The woman's family told Manchester Evening News that many present for the visit were moved to tears, including the nurses. Marsh's daughter said that her mother raised Bronwen from a foal, a friendship lasting 25 years.

Many praised the hospital for their compassion, while others commented about how beautiful Marsh and Bronwen's bound was.

The hospital said it was overwhelmed by the story's reception and the many kind words for Wigan Hospitals and the Marshes.
