MAHWAH, N.J. (WABC) -- A one-car wreck left a man in his 20s injured in New Jersey Thursday morning.

Police said a Corvette was heading south on Airmont Avenue in Mahwah when the driver lost control of vehicle, slid across the roadway and struck a utility pole on the other side.

The driver was uninjured, but his passenger, possibly his son, was airlifted to the Trauma Center at Hackensack, according to the Mahwah Police Department.

Airmont Avenue was closed between McIntosh and Brookwood Drive as a result of the accident investigation. The roadway was expected to be closed until late afternoon.

Delays and detours in the area were expected.
